Many residents of the area continue to ask about the design of the Dinosaur Park.
The site is located north of FM 1485. On the west side of 59 beginning from Caney
Creek and extending north to Roman Forest Boulevard if it were to cross Hwy 59/
The amusement park, water park, entertainment area, family entertainment center,
and the hotel and convention center are all located on the west side of Hwy 59.
The majority of the engineering and design work in being developed in California.
The designers are also moving attractions around on the site to best insure the
wetlands areas are protected and as much natural trees and vegetation as possible
remain on the site. An extensive amount of work is being done even though you
do not see trees being knocked down and clearing being conducted. The active
construction should begin in about 9-12 months from now as the wetlands
modification plans need to be finalized with the Corp of Enginneers. The
developers continue There updates on the progress and continue to reflect that
the development will employ 2,700 individuals and that the investment of 700
million dollars into the development is continuing to grow. This project will
additionally result in extensive hotel, retail and restaurant development in our area.
In next months newsletter we will have some additional graphics on some of the
rides and entertainment that will be contained inside the park. The project will
attract extenxsive travel and tourism to East Montgomery County which will benifit
our local businesses. With additional business growth additional ad valorum value
will provide needed funding for our local school districts to grow. In the future we
will be holding mumerous community meetings on the Dinosaur Park development
and talking about ways for our local businesses to be utilized for the construction
and other business opportunities with the park.
